cover letter是投稿信
投稿信，是个人或集体(写作集体)向报刊、电台或电视台投送稿件时写的专用书信。它一般随稿件同时寄发。投稿信，主要是介绍作者自己和稿件的有关情况，给对方考虑是否采用稿件时作参考。
写给编辑看的信。对于IF高的，编辑是牛人的杂志特别重要!要重视！
不同刊物要求不太一样，一是根据拟投刊物要求自己写，另一个就是通过网络可找到大量的cover letter样文，再改写。
cover letter 就是给主编或者编辑写一个简单介绍你的论文的内容，重点突出你的创新性，使主编或者编辑认为你的论文可以分给给审稿人审阅。
nature letter怎么样？
nature letter是一个学术界的顶级期刊，在行业内具有比较高的认可度和含金量，在该期刊上发表文章也是比较困难的。如果你能在nature letter上发表一篇论文，那么通常都意味着这篇文章的创新性还是比较强的，也是具有一定学术实力的。
